APMI Business High School Students Perform The Damask Drum Play
Freshmen, sophomores and seniors of APMI Business High School impressed the audience at LCC Naga Activity Center on October 20, 2009 with their acting, speaking and dancing performances which were considered as their second quarter project in MAPEH. With the active support of some Juniors who were the emcees (Julius Ranci Ayao and Razel Mara Padilla), tabulators and production crew, the Freshmen teamed up with the Sophomores to compete against the cast and chorus ensemble of the Seniors. The audience, composed mostly of APMIans, parents and visitors were mesmerized by the colorful set, costumes and haunting music of the play conceptualized and directed by Mr. Arnelo Nogales, MAPEH teachers of the APMI-BHS.
Moreover, in support of their schoolmates, Grade school intermediate pupils entertained the crowd with their energetic dance medley and musical presentations which also earned them points as project in MAPE. It was an entertaining afternoon as APMIans showcased their talents in dancing, singing, acting and speaking before a big audience.
The combined efforts of the freshmen and sophomores bagged the Best Costume, Best Chorus and Best Over-All Performance awards. Louise Paschal Aureus, a 2nd year student, was chosen as the Best Courtier. However the senoiors romped most of the individual acting awards with Richard Cayetano and Marc Josef Monsale winning special acting awards for their portrayal of the Gardener and the Ghost, respectively. The judges unanimously chose Charmaine Candelaria of the Seniors as the Best Princess for her moving performance as the ill-fated herione. The Seniors, reluctantly received the 2nd Place award for Best Over-All Performance, next to the Freshmen and the Sophomores who performed better.
